"Castle" star Nathan Fillion appeared on "Good Morning America on Monday, November 21, 2011 to talk about the hit ABC Show. A video of the interview is attached.
Fillion crediting the light hearted nations of "Castle" for its popularity with fans. He said that they did not take themselves too seriously and people like that.
Robert Roberts asked if Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic)will ever get together as a romantic could Fillion said that he was looking for a long run for Castle, which is currently in its fourth season. Fillion said that he feared the "Moonlighting" effect, meaning that if Castle and Beckeet did get togher it could ruin the show.
For people too young to remember, "Moonlighting" (1905-1989) was the caper comedy that starred smirking Bruce Willi,s before his movie star days, and former supermodel Cybill Shepherd . Like Castle, the tcharacters of "Moonlightng" worked together and resisted their attraction. When they finally gave into a relationship, in a truly silly episode, the chemistry of the show became less interesting.
So, going by Fillion's statements, do not expect Beckett and Castle to get together anytime soon, even though that would be romantics and fans would like to see them together as a couple
