Natalie Portman's Minnie Mouse-esque Oscar dress has sold for $50,000. The gown, designed by Dior, is apparently a prized collector's piece having been made during the 1950's and three years before Christian Dior's passing. The gown was bought by a mystery Dior aficionado for the impressive sum.
The actress, who had already chosen another outfit for this year's Oscars, was called at the last minute by a vintage store carrying the dress. The dress was a perfect fit in more than one way: Natalie is the face of Miss Dior Cherie perfume. It was a match made in Hollywood heaven.
Portman was a presenter at this year's Oscars and won last year for her role as a fallen ballerina in The Black Swan.
