Nasty winter storm heading to northeast part of the country

If you are located in the Northeast of the United States, expect about a foot or more of snow to come your way. Not only this but according to CNN, who reported it on Jan. 2, more than a foot of snow will show up along with below zero wind chills to make it bone cold for everyone in the Northeast. Because of this, over 900 flights have been canceled for those wanting to or needing to travel.

Also according to the report and according to the National Weather Service, there has been a winter storm warning for the entire northeast, mainly New York City and Long Island. As of last night, Wednesday, New York City and Long Island in New York have been warned of a winter storm ready to fall their way.

Since so much snow and cold weather is heading this way, people need to be prepared for it. They will need to gather supplies as well as much food and water as they can. They will need to be someplace warm enough and have backup heat in case the power goes out for them. If they are going to have such a huge snowstorm the power will eventually go out. Keeping warm in their chalets would be a good idea during the snow storm.

Also to come with this snow and below zero wind chills are strong winds. This is what will most likely knock out the power for these people. As well as New York City and Long Island is Albany on the list. They should expect at least 14 inches of snow to fall on their city.

Make sure to have everything you need for this blizzard before it comes. Bring pets in from the cold and keep them with you. Have enough flashlights, candles, batteries, matches or lighters, food, water, blankets, and anything else you think you might need during the first blizzard of the New Year.
