Instagram, the widely used and well loved mobile photo sharing application, is quickly becoming a great resource to find vintage clothes, accessories, shoes, and more. Since Instagram is a visual sharing platform of pictures (and recently videos, as well), it is ideal for users in the fashion world. Many of these fashionistas use the social Instagram for "outfit of the day (ootd)" posts, and sellers of vintage goods have caught on, as well. Many of this writer's favorite local Nashville antique shops, Old Made Good (@oldmadegood), KariBeth jewelry (@karibethjewelry) and Erabellum (@erabellum), post new items often. Users can like and share the shops' pictures, and even arrange for purchasing items they see- all with a touch of their phone! Customers can search Instagram using hashtags, and most shops use tags such as, #vintage, #vintagefashion, or specific listings like, #vintagewedgeheels, so it is easy to find whatever you're looking for. That said, Instagram can also be accessed on desktop platforms, which gives a great overviews of a store's offerings. This is a fantastic way to check out shops if you are traveling or looking for something specific. You can also follow me @modestyling.
