Hayden Panettiere plays the stunning, talented and wild Juliette Barnes on ABC’s country music drama, “Nashville.” She and fiancé Wladimir Klitschko are expecting their first child according to the New York Post on June 2. How the show will handle her soon to be blossoming baby bump has yet to be determined. Here are a few possibilities of how the issue of baby daddy could be played out.
Recent beau Avery Barkley (Jonathon Jackson) seems the most likely candidate. This could be a good thing for the couple who’ve gone through a rough patch, if cheating on your boyfriend because he’s being overly attentive to his mentally disturbed ex-girlfriend can be described as a rough patch.
Juliette’s nemesis and cheating partner Jeff Fordham (Oliver Hudson) is an obvious second candidate. She and Jeff hooked up while Juliette was drunk and miserable. Forgetting to use protection could have landed her here. The writers could have a dramatic field day with the ramifications of this one.
Charles Wentworth (Charlie Bewley) has been smitten with Juliette since they met. An early season 3 hook-up could be used to explain the pregnancy. She could turn to Charlie for comfort, assuming she and Avery don’t stay together.
Juliette’s also had a fling with Deacon Claybourne. If Rayna turns down his proposal, he and Juliette could end up as friends with benefits once more. What would he do as the daddy of 2 kids by women who are professional rivals?
Will Lexington (Chris Carmack) is on the fast track to self-destruct. News of his homosexuality is about to break. A hook-up with Juliette and a resulting pregnancy could be just the thing to cover up the rumors, if she goes along with it.
The 24-year-old Panettiere has not revealed her due date yet. She and her fiancé have been dating since 2009 and became engaged last year.
Season 3 of “Nashville” won’t be back until the fall. It will be interesting to see how the pregnancy is worked into the storylines. Who do you think will be the baby daddy?
