Per a Jan. 19 correspondence with Examiner.com, "The event is slated to be an annual fundraiser to benefit the YWCA of Nashville & Middle Tennessee, an organization that works to empower thousands of clients each year," all of whom desire a better quality of life for themselves and their families.
Described as the fastest-growing event series in the country, "Wine, Women & Shoes" found its inception in Napa, Calif., and was created by women for women who enjoy fine wine, great style, and supporting a charitable cause.
As for its local interpretation, "Wine, Women & Shoes" will be presented by The Plastic Surgery Center of Nashville, with the help of event co-chairs Janet Miller, Ann Pruitt and Leigh Walton, and will feature wine tastings from illustrious Napa Valley vineyards, a live and silent auction, and a walk-around boutique Marketplace featuring local and national trendsetters.
“This inaugural event will gather stylish and charismatic women to enjoy world-class wines served by Napa Valley Vintners, and a fashion marketplace with local and national flair, all while supporting women and children fleeing violent homes,” said Pat Shea, president and CEO of the YWCA of Nashville & Middle Tennessee.
Per organizers, the event's expected to sell out at an estimated 400 tickets, with a goal to raise $100,000 to benefit the YWCA Weaver Domestic Violence Center, the largest domestic violence shelter in the state of Tennessee. (FYI: In 2011 alone, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department received 30,941 reports of domestic violence; that’s one report every 17 minutes.)
Ticket info: Single tickets are $150 each, with various ticket packages available to include group tickets, transportation and exclusive vintner parties. Please access www.YWCANashville.com and visit the "Special Events" section for more information or to purchase tickets.
