Nashville's Paul Jolley advances to top 10 on 'American Idol'

America has spoken. On Thurs. Mar. 7 Nashville’s Paul Jolley was officially named as one of the top 10 American Idol finalists. As always, Ryan Seacrest’s suspenseful drawn out announcements of the top contenders had contestants and viewers at the edge of their seats. However, Jolley was the first name called, so he could rest assured that not only has he made it to the next level, but also that he will be going on the next upcoming ‘American Idol’ tour.

“My ears were kind of numb,” Jolley told Seacrest in disbelief that his name was on the card.

His victory song of choice was Heart’s “Alone.” He sang with ease and confidence, and his powerhouse vocals were beautifully showcased in this unforgettable tune.

Keith Urban who has clearly been a Paul Jolley fan since day one offered some very positive feedback, complimenting him on his strong showing. “From that performance right there, for me, that was way better than last night’s, and last night’s got you through," encouraged Urban.

Urban said he feels like Paul is channeling his energy into passion, and taking their advice. It was certain that the panel was impressed with his victory song, and he started off his new top 10 position in just the right fashion.

Joining Paul in the top 10 are:
Burnell Taylor
Curtis Finch Jr.
Devin Velez
Lazaro Arbos
Janelle Arthur
Candice Glover
Angela Miller
Amber Holcomb
Kree Harrison

Who will be your next ‘American Idol?’ There’s only one way to find out. Keep tuning in, and keep voting!
