Recently I sat down to talk to Kimberley about her upcoming Benefit being held for her in Nashville by so many loving friends. This is what she had to say about this and about how the healing is going with her arm:
Q So Kimberley, We hear that the Nashville community has joined together and are hosting a huge benefit show for you on January 10th, 2013. How exciting and heartwarming is that?
A I can't tell you how grateful I am for the outpouring of love and support I have received from my friends and family since the accident. Then to have some of Nashville’s best come together on my behalf makes me more grateful than I can put into words. I want everyone reading this to understand that I am truly blessed by this gift that the musical community is bestowing upon me and I look forward to a full recovery so that I can give back to this wonderful community. I pray the Lord blesses each and every person a thousand times in return.
Q We hear that there is going to be a lot of big named singer songwriters there to support you and show you love. How long have you lived in Tennessee?
A The list of people coming to the event has grown by leaps and bounds since it was first announced and I am humbled by the willingness of these wonderful friends to take time out of their busy lives to help me! I moved here in March of 1996 to be a part of the musical community. The Broken Spoke was where I started first and it's also where I met many of the great singer songwriters that will be performing. I can't wait to see everyone!
Q So I am sure that you know a lot of these folks showing up for you that night?
A Yes! Many of them are dear friends that I have enjoyed "mountain top" and "valley" experiences with. It will be wonderful to see EVERYONE that makes it out for the event.
Q Did you hear that STYX is donating an autographed guitar for your silent auction?
A WOW!!! Yes!! Talk about being overwhelmed!!!! These guys are rock n roll royalty AND they are super humble awesome friends of mine! So cool that they took the time to be a help to me.
Q ITS Entertainment, 3rd and Lindsley and Third Coast Broadcasting are sponsoring the event. How fun it is going to be to have this show LIVE on the Internet being brought to the world through Third Coast Broadcast?
A Oh my GOODNESS!!!! I am so excited about this aspect of the show for the sake of my wonderful fans around the world. They have expressed so much love and support from the beginning so it will be wonderful to include them at this amazing event!
Q What is currently going on with your arm? How has physical therapy been going?
A My arm is healing well. I am getting stronger by the day by doing normal tasks around the house. I have picked up an instrument a few times since being home to help inspire the healing process and that has been very helpful as well. I haven't started physical therapy just yet because I am still in the initial stages of healing but that will be coming soon.
Q Can your share the prognosis with us?
A First of all I want to share that the Lord, Jesus, has been sustaining me through this whole ordeal and I am confident that He "causes all things to work together for the good of those who love Him". So I am looking forward to what He has in store no matter what! Secondly, the doctors say it's too early to say what the final results will be so I continue to be hopeful and do the things I need to do to help speed the healing process. From my point of view I am getting better every day and praying for a full recovery and expecting just that! My very special thanks go out to the people who have been praying for me!
