“Nashville” ended its first season on ABC with several cliffhangers, including a car accident that left Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten) in peril. On Friday, the network released the first photos of the season two premiere.
“I Fall to Pieces” finds Rayna in a coma. Her daughter Maddie (Lennon Stella) is still reeling from the news that Deacon is her father. The pictures show Maddie by her mother’s bedside in the hospital, but they also show her getting comfort from a surprising source.
Rayna’s rival and tour partner Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) is also visiting Rayna in the hospital and spending some alone time with Maddie. Since Juliette lost her mother last season, it’s possible she feels a connection with the younger girl. It’s also possible she has her own agenda.
When we last saw Gunnar (Sam Palladio), he was proposing to Scarlett (Clare Bowen). Did she accept? Things seem a little tense between them in the pictures, especially the ones that feature Scarlett’s ex Avery (Jonathan Jackson) as well. Could his renewed friendship with Scarlett come between them?
