On Monday, Chicago TV Examiner viewed an advanced screener of ABC’s “Nashville” so we can bring viewers a preview of what to expect from the upcoming episode, “There’ll Be No Teardrops Tonight.”
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
As the episode begins, Rayna (Connie Britton) is preparing to take the stage on the next leg of her tour. But as she stares out into the audience, all she can think about is the bomb Teddy (Eric Close) dropped on her when he asked for a divorce. Deacon (Charles Esten) watches in concern as Rayna repeatedly misses her cue. The singer finally manages to start the show and afterward, her manager assures her that no one noticed the hiccup, but Rayna isn’t really in the mood to celebrate.
Deacon is worried that she might be upset about the kiss they shared last week, but she tells him that it’s something else and she’s not ready to talk about it yet or she’ll fall apart. Liam (guest star Michael Huisman) shows up unexpectedly and offers to distract Rayna from her life. She’s more than happy to escape with him and even has a little fun teaching him some line dancing moves. But her personal drama is never far from her mind and Rayna has to make some big decisions.
Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) is still buzzing from the excitement of what she considers a successful change to her act. She gathers her band and tells them that she wants to do more acoustic stuff and forget the juvenile sound, but Glenn (guest star Ed Amatrudo) warns her that she’s trying to change too much too soon and she’s going to make a mistake. He has his own talk with the band and purposely leaves Deacon out of the loop, which does not sit well with the guitar player.
Back in Nashville, Avery (Jonathan Jackson) is struggling with the choices he has made and receives a new offer from an unexpected source. Scarlett (Clare Bowen) and Gunnar (Sam Palladio) receive some really good news and are adjusting well to their new roommate situation until an uninvited guest arrives to shake things up.
“Nashville” airs Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 9 p.m. CST on ABC.
