Nashville City Civitan Club honors George Cate, Stanley Frank (Photos)

The Nashville City Civitan Club met at Swett's Restaurant in West Nashville on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 to honor two of their own members, George Cate and Stanley Frank who have each been members of Civitan for 50 years. The club's George Cate Honor Key Awards are named after George H. Cate, Jr. who has served the citizens of Nashville as a former Metro Councilman and Vice Mayor.

Both men share distinguished records of service to the Nashville City Civitan Club so club members took the opportunity to show appreciation in the form of comments of thanks as well as humorous anecdotes. A cake decorated in Civitan blue and white colors was prepared in their honor and Cate received a plaque for his 50 years of service to the Civitan organization.

On Thursday, June 21 Civitan club members will meet at the Crow’s Nest on Bandywood in Green Hills at 5:30 PM to enjoy a social outing.

The civic club will meet again on July 11 and July 18, skipping their normal first Wednesday which would fall on the 4th of July holiday.
