This series is going to heat things up even more during the rest of season one. Rayna and Deacon are both single at the moment, but that does not mean the pair will reunite as a couple. In fact, they will have new people come into their lives. Deacon will date someone out of the business played by Susan Misner, according to TV Guide. Charles Esten said the following about the new arrival:
"For anyone who is in the industry and that's all they know, it gets real claustrophobic and to find somebody who's not part of that world is immediately a breath of fresh air. And, of course, to find someone that's not crazy impressed with you — what could be more attractive than that? She doesn't know even know Deacon is a great guitarist so immediately he's hooked."
Rayna will also be back with Liam working on her new album. There is the potential for something to happen between this pair as well. As for Scarlett and Gunnar, this pair will have a time of it. They have slept together, but the timing was not ideal. Dee Johnson revealed the following about Gunnar's mental state:
"Sometimes reality can be different than fantasy. Gunnar is in a totally different place. That's going to complicate their relationship."
The two will end up trying things out romantically, but it will be complicated. A new neighbor next door will be the source of complication for these two. Will, who is played by Chris Carmack, will be the new 'Avery' in Scarlett's life, but he will also be friends with Gunnar. As for Gunnar, the death of his brother will impact his writing. He will have to work through writer's block.
Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
Just saw the mayor of Nashville, or at least the guy that plays him on #NashvilleABC. He is cuter in person!
