Nashua man charged with assault on Litchfield infant

Litchfield police arrested Matthew Northrup of Nashua for allegedly injuring a 4 month old in January.

The investigation began after police received a call the NH Division of Children Youth and Families after they received a call from Elliott Hospital after a 4 month infant was brought into the hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries. According to reports by The Nashua Telegraph, the child was transferred to Dartmouth Medical Center in Lebanon subsequent to being admitted into Elliott Hospital.

The police investigation quickly brought them to arrest Matthew Northrup of 9 Derry St. Nashua, NH. Northrup was charged with 3 counts of second-degree assault on a child.
The Nashua Telegraph reported that Northrup was held on $ 100,000 bail. He was transferred to Hillsborough County Department of Corrections. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Merrimack district court Tuesday at 8am.
