Carl Edwards will have one less thing to worry about this weekend.
Edwards’ wife Kate gave birth Wednesday afternoon. Anne Edwards is 8 lbs, 4oz and mom and baby are doing well.
"Kate and I have a beautiful baby girl!" Edwards said. "Anne... likes to eat and cry. All of the well wishes and support from everyone mean a lot to us. Kate's doing great, though she's having a little trouble burping Annie....whole new world!"
The couple was married in January of 2009. They made the announcement of the planned arrival in October.
The latest edition comes two weeks after Elliott Sadler and his wife Amanda welcomed a son into the world.
The Edwards’ baby was due during the season opening Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway. Edwards’ had drivers on standby during both the Daytona 500 and this past weekend’s event in California.
