NASA’s ‘Superhero Robot’ Valkyrie video goes viral

Sunday morning, a NASA video posted to YouTube called “Superhero Robot” about the robot named Valkyrie went viral as hundreds of thousands of people attempted to view it; as of Sunday morning the “Superhero Robot” video has had 733,741 views since it was posted on December 10, 2013.

NASA gives specific information about the “Superhero Robot” and how it works and what their plans are for Valkyrie in the future in space. The “Superhero Robot” takes on a human form with two legs and two arms, and it walks like its human. Valkyrie has a small battery pack and is completely self-contained. Valkyrie is 1.9-metres tall and weighs 125 kilograms, and has 44 degrees of axes of rotation. The battery pack can keep the robot going to an hour; it can walk, pick up objects, and manipulate them in its human like hands.

NASA would like to use the “Superhero Robot” Valkyrie on Mars to explore the planet and conduct research. The robots will prepare the way for humans to travel to different planets and after humans travel there, humans and robots will work together to get the job done.
