Calling all spacecraft enthusiasts!
NASA's Orion crew will be at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center this weekend. This Saturday and Sunday, February 22 and 23, 2014 NASA and Orion crew members will be on site speaking about the Orion space craft and inviting visitors to sign a banner that will soon be displayed on the fence of the Kennedy Space Center when the Orion takes off!
Presentation and lectures will be included with regular admission. Saturday speakers include Larry Price, Orion Deputy Program Manager and William Hartwell, Deputy Program Executive. Additional NASA and Orion members will be on site to answer questions and educate visitors about space exploration, Orion and mission expectations.
The Orion MPCV (Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle) is a vessel that will serve as an exploration vehicle, carrying the Orion crew to and from space, and sustain them during space travel. It is equipped and capable of conducting in-space operations in conjunction with the Space Launch System as well as capable of serving as a back-up system for International Space Station cargo and crew.
