Kentucky-based Southern hip hop group Nappy Roots will headline Wooly's in Des Moines on Sunday night. The platinum-selling group has collected MTV VMA, AMA, Soul Train, Grammy, SEA, and HipHopDX Award nominations over the years. Nappy Roots got their start as a sextet, but over the years the group has trimmed down to a quartet with R. Prophet and Big V leaving to pursue solo careers. The group is best known for their 2002 smashes "Awnaw" and "Po' Folks", both of which peaked in the Top 20 of both the Rap and R&B charts. Opening the show for Nappy Roots will be Narada Sauti, B. Well, and Elijah Muhumuza. The show will kick off at 8 p.m., and tickets are $12 in advance and $14 on the day of the concert. This will be an all ages event.

Johnny Cash tribute artist Philip Bauer will perform at Terrible's Lakeside Casino in Osceola on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Bauer got his start in Minneapolis where he won numerous talent shows and state fair competitions. Bauer has performed all over the world both as a tribute artist and as an original artist. His original songs have been played on over 300 European radio stations. Tickets to see Bauer at Lakeside's outdoor theater are $10 for general admission and $20 for tiered seating. This is a 21-and-older event.

Hot Tamale & The Red Hots will perform at the Snus Hill Winery just outside of Madrid on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Des Moines blues band made it to the finals of this year's Iowa Blues Challenge and finished as the runner-up. The show is free and open to all ages, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Lawn chairs and blankets are suggested.
