The Patty & Jay Baker Naples Museum of Art is hosting a free-admission Family Day on Saturday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Timed to coincide with the Halloween season, guests will enjoy many haunted activities, including a costume contest, interactive magical stories with Carrie Sue Ayvar, portrait sketches by artist Jason Weber, face painting, fortune telling, games of chance, tattoos and more. There will also be hands-on art activities, including a potion station, magical charms, monster munch treats and pumpkin decorating. In addition, the Mystical Training Academy will teach children about the exhibits.
Each participant will receive a “report card” and will learn about art and mystical creatures as they make their way through the museum. They will graduate from the academy when they have visited the exhibitions and collected information.
Docent-guided tours of the museum will take place at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Current exhibitions include sculptor Steve Tobin's Natural History, Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist, Modern Mexican Masters, Leaders in American Modernism, Schrenk Student Photography Exhibit and more.
The Naples Museum of Art is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
The Naples Museum of Art, the Philharmonic Galleries and the Philharmonic Center for the Arts are located at 5833 Pelican Bay Blvd. in the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts Cultural Complex.
