Halloween is just a few days away. Downtown Naperville will be celebrating the festive holiday with several events. From little kids dressed in their favorite costumes to a Halloween inspired concert, there is an activity for every interest.
Haunted Trolley Rides, Anderson's Bookshop, Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26
Leaving from the Downtown Naperville store, the Haunted Trolley rides are ready to spook and treat its guests. Special readers will share haunted tales throughout the ride. This event is family friendly. Trolleys leave at 6, 6:45 and 7:30 pm each night. Tickets are $9 and can be purchased at the store.
SCARE-illon - Saturday, October 26
During the spooky time of the year, the Millennium Carillon is known as the SCARE-illon., Naperville City Carillonneur Tim Sleep will play both classical and popular Halloween-themed music, including selections from Phantom of the Opera, Harry Potter and others. The concert also features the Élan Dance Company performing original dances celebrating Halloween and Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead. In keeping with the Halloween theme, the Naperville Park District will be handing out treats to trick-or-treaters at the event.
The SCARE-illon concert is from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26 at Naperville’s Millennium Carillon, located at the base of Rotary Hill at 443 W. Aurora Ave. The audience is encouraged to bring blankets or folding chairs. Parking is available in the parking lot on Aurora Avenue, at Centennial Beach at 500 W. Jackson Avenue or at the Naperville Municipal Center at 400 S. Eagle Street.
Halloween Happening - Sunday October 27
Can't get enough time wearing your Halloween costume? Start the trick or treating a little early this Sunday. Halloween Happening is a family-friendly event (costumes invited but optional) for children ages 10 and under and their parents with a variety of fun activities, games and candy. In addition to the traditional themed areas (Halloween Way, Fairytale Lane, King Arthur’s Court and Adventure Alley) the event will include a new area, Tiny Tot Town, for kids ages 2-4, sponsored by Naperville Bank and Trust. Other event sponsors include Rocket Ice, the Pooper Scooper, Kidsnips, bd’s Mongolian Grill, Aurelio’s Pizza, Frey Orthodontics and Fifth/Third Bank.
Halloween Happening takes place from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27 at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, located along the Riverwalk just west of Centennial Beach. Parking is available at Centennial Beach at 500 W. Jackson Avenue or in the spaces opposite the Grand Pavilion.
