Naperville Ribfest, sponsored by Naperville Exchange Club, is one of the most popular Fourth of July Festivals in the Chicagoland area. The southwest suburb of Chicago features top entertainment and ribs for the weekend of July 4th,
from July 2 - 5, 2009. Entertainment on the Independence Day weekend includes Heart, Blue Oyster Cult, Huey Lewis and the News, Todd Rundgren, Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone and Sara Evans. Fireworks will honor the Independence Day holiday on Saturday night, July 4, starting at 9:30 pm.

Headlining Entertainment
Entertainment will be on the Miller Lite Main Stage and U.S. Cellular Stage. Entertainment is available all day long on the two stages. Here are the headliners.

Fourth of July Fireworks
The Fourth of July Fireworks Show starts at 9:30 PM on July 4. Festival organizers recommend arriving early to get a spot, as the pyrotechnics spectacular attracts a big crowd.
Ribs at Ribfest
Ribfest promises the best BBQ you will ever taste, with some of the top rib vendors in the country selling their specialties. Rib vendors listed on the Ribfest website include Desperado’s BBQ & Rib Co., Fest Freddy’s Electric BBQ Ribs, Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Wood Dale, Texas Outlaws BBQ, Hickory Smokee BBQ Uncle Bub’s Broasted Chicken, Famous Daves’s Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que, Pigfoot BBQ Company, Aussom Aussie, Butch’s Smack Your Lips B-B-Q, Porky Beans, Rasta Joe’s B-B-Q, St. Oink’s Pit BBQ, Johnson’s BBQ, MOjo’s Ribshack, Smokin’ Joe’s Hog Wild Barbeque, Armadillo Rib and Que Company and Howling Coyote Southwest BBQ.
There will also be other types of food for people who want something different than ribs. For liquid refreshment, there will be a Pepsi Tent and Miller Lite Beer Tents at the festival.
Ribfest admission is $10 at the gate and $8 in advance (purchase tickets at Naperville Park District and Naperville area Jewel stores. Children 11 and under are admitted for free.
Ribfest is located at Knoch Park in Naperville, Illinois. Organizers recommend parking in a remote lot and riding to the park in one of the available shuttles.
