A nanny caught on camera hitting a 5-month old child has been jailed. A report posted today at the Daily Mail says the parents were horrified to see their nanny slapping their baby in the face on Monday.
Reports say the mother became suspicious of the nanny, so she installed a hidden camera in their carbon monoxide detector, and synced it to a live feed so she could watch from work. To her horror, she saw Mamura Nasirova, the nanny, smack her daughter in the face three times for not taking her bottle.
The 52-year-old nanny then shook the child, who was strapped in an infant seat, slapped her legs, the picked her up and carried her out of the room. No sound is heard on the video, but it is clear the baby is crying.
The furious mother left work, and rushed home to confront Nasirova, who she then fired. The baby had swelling, but no other injuries were reported.
The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roman Mardakhaev, filed a police report on February 1st, and Nasirova was arrested two days later. Police say fought with the officers who were trying to make the arrest. Sources say Nasirova is not a U.S.. citizen.
According to Daniel Donovan, spokesman for the Staten Island District Attorney, Mamura Nasirova, the nanny caught on camera, now faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest. Her bail was set at $1,000 but she remains in jail at Rikers Island. Her court date is on Friday.
