In Staten Island, a nanny was arrested for slapping a 5 month old baby. Nanny Mamura Nasirova, was caught on the family's nanny cam repeatedly slapping and what looks like choking the baby. In the carbon monoxide detector was hidden a camera to watch the happenings, it was clearly needed due to the violence the child was subjected to.
Young children who are unable to verbally communicate can become the victim of violence very easily. When they are unable to speak for themselves they can't complain or alert their parents or guardians to concerns and instances of abuse and mistreatment. I think a nanny cam is a great investment. It will keep parents aware of what's going on in their homes while a nanny or babysitter is there with their children. In the event that abuse does occur the matter can be resolved with evidence. The ability to remotely monitor a nanny cam would provide a parent with assurance that they will have knowledge of how their child is being treated throughout the day.
I would definitely feel safer having a nanny cam installed in my house. It's already hard to leave your child with someone else, this just offers an extra amount of comfort. You may not be able to be there physically but you can have eyes on your child when you want to. If this family did not have a nanny cam this abuse may have continued or even escalated. Do you think there is value in nanny cams?
