Known best for their 24 hour marinated chicken and Peri-Peri sauce, Nando’s prides themselves in using fresh ingredients and being “uniquely African”. Each location stays true to their casual atmosphere and allows you to look forward to the quality food ahead. As a short order restaurant, you walk up to the counter to order and pay for your meal, then you are given a wooden “Barcelos Cockrel” with a number on it as you sit at the table of your choice awaiting a server who will bring your food out to your table once it is ready.

The menu is comprised of anything from a ¼ chicken to 10 wings as well as sandwiches, salads and even platters to share with a larger party (or take home for dinner later). Nando’s offers five different basting sauces to cook on top of the marinated chicken: Lemon & Herb, Mango & Lime, Medium, Hot, or Extra Hot Peri-Peri sauce. To make the ordering decision even more painstaking, you get two sides with your entrée and there is a slew of them to choose from! But no fear, there is no wrong choice when it comes to ordering from here, so go for it!

Nando’s is also a family and kid friendly establishment. Nandino’s menu is for kids 10 and under, pick one out of five entrées and their meal will come with fries, coleslaw, corn on the cob, garlic bread or sliced apples, and bottomless frozen yogurt for $5.25.

The ½ chicken ($9.45) basted with Lemon and Herb sauce was undeniably succulent and flavorful. Paired with the Chunky Portuguese Medley and the unpredictably delicious Macho Peas that started with a zesty flavor and finished off cool and unexpectedly refreshing, rounded out this complete meal. Another order of the ½ chicken basted with Mango and Lime sauce was the perfect sweet and savory balance. Teamed up with flavorful Portuguese Rice and Red Skin Mashed Potatoes, it was unanimous that Nando’s hits that comfort food desire and does a marvelous job fulfilling that!

If you’re looking for a nice beverage other than a fountain drink to go with your meal, Nando’s has a broad list of drinks from beers to wines and sangrias all from either Portugal or South Africa. And let’s not forget about dessert, but then again, who does? Of course, they have that too!

Nando’s Peri-Peri proves that you can have a delightful dining experience and still have money left in your pocket. Simply said, it’s a great restaurant with even better food and service. With the hustle and bustle of city living, Nando’s Peri-Peri’s hassle-free atmosphere is much needed and greatly welcomed!
