Nancy Pelosi gives angry chase on House Floor over immigration bill

The House Floor saw some unprecedented actions from former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who interrupted Rep. Tom Marino during his speech on the floor. While he was speaking, he struck a nerve on Pelosi who continually interrupted Marino over his allegations that democrats will not pass immigration reform bills.

“Under the leadership of the former speaker … when in 2009 and 2010, they had the House, the Senate and the White House, and they knew this problem existed, they didn’t have the strength to go after it back then. But now are trying to make a political issue out of it now,” Marino said.

What happened next surprised everyone, including democrats, one of them saying, "What is she doing?" Rep. Nancy Pelosi, (D-CA) in an outrage went after Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA) pointing a finger and chastising him on the House Floor.

Marino, standing on facts made his argument, which Pelosi adamantly disagreed interrupting the representative’s floor time. Marino replies to Pelosi, “Yes it is true. I did the research on it. You might want to try it. You might want to try it, Madam Leader. Do the research on it. Do the research. I did it. That’s one thing that you don’t do.”

Marino who had the floor was reprimanded for not directing his words toward the speaker. He was answering Pelosi's outburst, yet nothing was said to Pelosi. Rep. Marino made it a point to say that it should go both ways. After the chase and the Sergeant at Arms came to the floor things calmed down and remarkably the immigration bill finally passed moving on to the Senate for a vote.

The video shows an angry Pelosi crossing from the democratic size of the House the republican side; however, it was unclear what she was ranting about. In a tweet on social media, Rep. Marino filled us in saying, “Rep. Nancy Pelosi called me a “insignificant person” on the Floor of the House. I’ll ponder that while driving to Williamsport tonight...”

Looking back in June, to an article on The Hill, democrats warned that Barrack Obama would unilaterally strike down the immigration bill and Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) said, "Their first job is to govern and in the absence of governing, then you see executive actions."

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) piled on. Noting that a year has passed since the Senate passed a sweeping immigration reform bill with broad bipartisan support, he urged House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to bring a similar bill to the floor."

"I don't know how much more time he thinks he needs, but I hope that Speaker Boehner will speak up today," Durbin said. "And if he does not, the president will borrow the power that is needed to solve the problems of immigration."
