Nancy Murphree Davis is a creative and productive artist, also a Mom, who manages to juggle lots of things as she zips from her home duties, to her “Red Studio,” and to the Lee Arts Center.
As a printmaker, she needs the presses and considerable equipment at the Lee Arts Center. As a painter and collage maker, she uses her Red Studio space.
It is easy to find art stories from her because she is prolific, and there is always something new.
Now, what makes her work special is continuity as she moves from one type of art technique to another. There is a certain compatibility achieved through her artistic sense that results in a unique style that artists try to achieve.
So we talked about her prints and collage that was inspired by them. She also shared elements of other works in progress. That is the benefit of visiting an open studio and meeting with artists to ask questions about their work.
