“We may not have it all together but together we have it all.”
These are the words spoken by Nancy Matthews at the start of her powerful Women’s Prosperity Network (WPN) mastermind breakfasts, lunches, coaching calls, events and the yearly WPN “Unconference.” She reminds us to be receptive to everyone we meet because the very next person may be “THE ONE,” the one who totally changes your life. For her upcoming book, The One, Nancy invited women in her huge network of colleagues and friends to send her a story identifying the single person who for them has been “the one.” To her surprise and delight, the first 3 people that wrote back said: “Nancy, you’re the one!”
International speaker, keynote, author and executive business consultant with over 25 years of experience, Nancy Matthews has shared the stage with such leading motivation and transformation leaders as Jack Canfield, Loral Langemeier, Bob Burg, and many others. Known as the “Visionary with Guts,” also the title of one of her books, she has the unique ability to blaze through challenges and obstacles, to turn adversity into advantage, and to equip others to do the same. The owner and operator of several multi-million dollar businesses, Nancy is a leader with heart, imbued with an entrepreneurial spirit, unstoppable drive and energy, and a mission to inspire, empower and teach women to realize their full potential.
With a college degree in political science and sociology, Nancy spent the first half of her career as a legal secretary, always dabbling in entrepreneurial work on the side. As a single mom, pregnant at age 24 and choosing to rear the child alone, she always held two jobs to make ends meet (e.g., waitressing at a bowling alley and selling oil paintings). She would “do whatever it takes to get the job done – and more.” In 2002, she left the last law firm and went into business for herself as a mortgage broker and title agency, investing in real estate at the same time. In 2005, she began speaking to teach real estate investors how to buy and sell properties. Then two years later, while attending a public speaking seminar, one of the speakers pointed out that although speaking is one of the highest paid professions there are very few women involved. He shared “We need more women to step up as speakers and that they be women who act like women, not women acting like men to achieve success.” Nancy says she “felt movement in the pit of my stomach” that caused her to instantly know it was her calling to be a leader of leaders.
At that event she met another woman and together they started planning seminars. A failed business model, Nancy ended up financing the project and losing about $75,000. But in this business fiasco, she “gained the passion to truly be of service to women.” Once again turning adversity into advantage, Nancy approached her two sisters and shared the desire to move forward with a project to empower women. The root of this drive is that as a single mom she had been driven and self-assured enough to be on her own and do what it takes but she knew that many other women did not have that same belief in them self. That discussion led to the formation of Women’s Prosperity Network, with her sisters, Trish Carr and Susan Wiener, and this movement is fueled continually by grassroots marketing.
In Nancy’s Words, “If you had told me I’d be running a women’s movement, I would not have believed it. I had never been one to have lots of girl friends or attend women’s groups. Through WPN, I have discovered the power of building relationships and friendships with powerful women. WPN is a true ‘Network’ of extraordinary women offering opportunities to connect, mastermind and create productive and prosperous relationships that support living the life of your dreams. WPN provides the perfect space for women to tap into their inner power and let their light shine in the world through a spirit of ‘co-opetition’ not competition.”
NANCY MATTHEWS IS “THE ONE”
“Through your passion to help others grow and prosper, I learned how to focus on my intentions to make them work for me (on the golf course and in life); to get organized and importantly, to be fearless with my hopes and dreams. A good example of this is the response I received from EWGA [Executive Women’s Golf Association] headquarters when I was faced with a personnel challenge with my Board. Because of the tools I learned from you I had the confidence to step up and take a very difficult stance to make significant changes on my Board. My actions led to growing our Chapter and interestingly giving my Board members the support they needed to believe in themself and thrive….So thanks again for your encouragement, your incredible wisdom and the tools you have shared with me to live with Passion! I thought “The One” person who could help me get the opportunity I wanted was Jack Canfield. Jack was “The One” for me. He was the one who led me to Women’s Prosperity Network and Nancy Matthews. Women’s Prosperity Network is “The One” who inspired and empowered me to write the book I have been talking about writing since I was six years old. Nancy Mathews is the “The One” who has been there to share her knowledge and marketing genius, provide constant training and consistent reinforcement to help make my vision a reality. I have written my book, Happy in Love: A Woman’s Guide to Love, Attraction, Dating and Relationships in just two months. I am going to launch the Book and the website in January. Then, I will get to be “The One” to inspire and empower millions of women to love themselves, love their lives and be truly happy in love.

The lives of those featured in Visionaries with Guts are true inspiration to me to be "The One" not only in other lives but to be "The One" to myself. These are accounts of real personalities who have been led to be tops in their fields of endeavor.…. My bridal and formalwear store was forced to be closed in 2011 because of lost revenue. Much of the impact and philosophies of this fantastic book contributed to my new adventure path for 2012: grant writing and my true love of watercolor painting and drawing (for fun and profit). WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT NANCY MATTHEWS
- Gloria Ramirez, president and found of Glorious Being Center: Empowering Children and Women to Greatness, currently involved with creating The Potter’s Village in Ghana
“I started going to WPN 2 years ago. I’ve observed Nancy’s leadership and her commitment to humanity, to women and to children. Every time I attend one of her mastermind breakfasts or seminars, I receive a lot of value personally. But she is also involved with helping us secure the land in Ghana for the orphanage where we plan to create a sustainable perma culture. They live in shacks, and have no toilets or running water. As a board member, Nancy helps with important decisions to help with this project.” Find out more at http://www.gbcenter.org
- Joy Vodofsky, volunteer on the mission trip to Ghana
“Invited to go on a mission trip to Ghana, Africa, by my daughter-in-law Heather, I was hesitant and fearful. Nancy said to me, ‘How are you going to feel if you don’t go. Put all those other fears aside and just do it.’ Once I got there I was so moved and wanted to help. When I returned, with Nancy’s support and encouragement, I talked to Gloria about possibly using the nonprofit she had already formed to support this project. Together we have all helped to raise money to buy back packs for school for 77 children and so much more.” Find out more at http://www.GloriousBeingCenter.org.
- Christina Ericsson, The Autism Angel, raising funds for the organization Autism Speaks
“I met Nancy a year ago at a local event when she stopped by the booth where I was selling a health product, on a mission to make everyone healthy. She invited me to attend a WPN luncheon which literally changed my life. I have received continuous help from Nancy. Steering me toward a true clarity of vision, this past year I have developed more than in the previous 20 years. Having worked with a few customers with autistic children, I began to focus on them and then found an additional health product producing amazing results. Nancy has been a continual support for me, encouraging me to speak, raising me up, believing in my mission, and assisting me to clearly define my goals.” Find out more at www.theautismangel.com.
- Carol Morgan, The Dream Activator, helping people remember, understand and apply what they learn from their dreams.
“For the past 2 ½ years, Nancy has had the most profound effect. She put me on my path to being a Dream Coach, helping people to understand and overcome nightmares. She has always, always been there for me whenever I have asked for something. Nancy is a wonderful human being and I have seen her grow. She is a terrific coach because she is also willing to be coached herself.” Find out more at http://www.LifeDreamsandMore.com.
- Allison Turner, social work graduate student and creator of Pathway To Mind and Spirit
“With Nancy I always feel as if I am “The One,” the Only one Nancy is focusing on and dealing with. Her energy is remarkable. In December 2010, I had a completely different job. A friend told me I might enjoy going to a breakfast mastermind group, I joined WPN, and my life began to change. After every event, I walk out with more optimism, positive energy and a sense that “Yes, I Can do that!” With Nancy’s guidance and encouragement, my Pathway to Mind and Spirit program has been expanding rapidly. I am happier in this part of my life than when I had a full paycheck. Through my connection to WPN I was invited to write a chapter for a book and I am now ready to write my own book.”

I met Nancy Matthews for the first time when I attended a Braveheart Women Meet and Greet in West Palm Beach. Nancy had brought most of the women to this event. Having travelled to the west coast for the Braveheart Women RISE event, it was such a pleasure to meet a local Florida visionary with guts. Every time I attend a WPN event, I feel honored, respected and appreciated. I have met many courageous, powerful and successful women with a vision and desire to make a difference in the world. As a strong role model, providing leadership, coaching and mentoring for hundreds of women in South Florida, Nancy Matthews is helping women to come together to change the world, more than one woman at a time.
