NAMM is the music industry's biggest event of the year gathering hopefuls to superstar musicians together at the Anaheim Convention center. From gear, to stage pyrotechnics, to electronic innovations for every musical genre imaginable, NAMM provides. Live performances and celebrity signings line the aisles when your attention isn't diverted by Stevie Wonder casually trying out a new drum set. This year's convention brought forth exciting new ideas for every person's musical inspiration.

Celebs receive endorsements for gear companies and thus there will always be an onslaught of signings at NAMM. Tommy Lee, Anthrax, Slipknot, Bootsy Collins, and Lynyrd Skynyrd were just a few celebs out signing fans autographs this year. The real excitement happens as you randomly run into Tre Cool of Greenday at the Gretsch drums booth drinking a beer, then Stevie Wonder playing harmonica and drums at various locations.
Live performances are another benefit of this convention. In the Sennheiser booth was songstress Debby Holiday slamming home vocal stylings (VIDEO HERE). A huge DRUM CIRLCE also took place Saturday night outside the convention center near the John Lennon Educational tour bus and stage. Hundreds of music lovers gathered in the spirit of the convention for an impromptu jam with provided instruments and an atmosphere of jubilation.
Many facets of NAMM in 2012 were unique. Stumble into the "artists relations" booth belonging to Reunion Blues and watch a Man hand roll cigars. Tired of using drums? Pick up at Z-Stik with hand crafted wood from Oregon, made in the shape of a lightening bolt or "Z" shape. If your guitar strings are wearing down along with your hands, get some "Chops" which will balance your PH levels on your hands, protecting strings and callouses you worked so hard to get in the first place!
NAMM 2012 wrapped up on Sunday night with a fresh perspective on the upcoming musical year. With so many individuals excited about being a part of this community and all the many innovations on the musical horizon, this year should be an exciting year.
