Naked pictures from Facebook gives man stronghold for Skype peepshow

When 27-year-old Gary Kazaryan of Glendale, Calif. Hacked into hundreds of women’s Facebook accounts to troll for naked pictures, he soon discovered he had the means to blackmail the group into posing nude on Skype for his viewing pleasure. According to a NBC News report dated January 30, getting the pictures was just the beginning of his plan.

After securing the naked pictures from the hacked accounts, Kazaryan posed as one the women and contacted others asking them to share naked pictures of themselves. Once he had the naked pictures in his possession, Kazaryan then told the women that if they did not pose nude for him on Skype, he would hack their Facebook accounts and post their naked pictures for the world to see.

Dubbed the "sextortion" by the federal investigators, Kazaryan now faces up to 105 years in prison on federal computer hacking charges.

According to the FBI, Kazaryan began hacking Facebook pages to secure naked pictures in 2009. Over 3,000 naked or semi-naked pictures of women were found on his computer.

Authorities have not yet contacted all of the victims and ask that any woman who thinks she may have been targeted by Kazaryan to contact the FBI’s Los Angeles field office at 310-477-6565.

According to Statistic Brain, there are 900 million active Facebook accounts. Two million new friend requests are sent every 20 minutes and three million messages are sent through Facebook every 20 minutes.

Facebook users are encouraged to exercise caution when developing new friendships online.
