Nick Cannon, the host of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” recently stripped down to the take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The video of his chilling endeavor hit the web on Aug. 22, 2014, the same day he confirmed he and his wife, superstar Mariah Carey, are splitting.
The Washington Post reports that Cannon told The Insider with Yahoo that “There is trouble in paradise. We have been living in separate houses for a few months... My main focus is my kids.” Cannon, 33, and Carey, 44, have two children – 3 year old twins Monroe and Moroccan.
The couple were married for around six years, tying the knot in 2008 after a six week courtship, according to the Post. The couple also renewed their vows each year and during their nuptials called each other “soulmates,” says the report.
Cannon, seen only in a towel, says in Thursday's video that he promised to do the challenge “naked” at the prompting of AGT judge Mel B. Prior to his icing, Cannon nominated Howard Stern, Howie Mandel, and Shaquille O’Neal to take part in the experience.
Also on Thursday, “Big Brother” host Julie Chen was seen taking the ALS Ice Bucket challenge on live television at the end of the reality show’s broadcast at the urging of her husband, CBS President and Chief Executive Officer Leslie Moonves. Actor Will Arnett (“Arrested Development,” “The Millers”) showed up to do the honors drenching Chen by pouring the bucket of water over her as she stood in a kiddie pool.
