Girl's we're all guilty of it. Slipping off our shoes and dancing on beer covered dance floors, walking through disgusting streets barefoot, or trying to bear the pain of blistered feet after a long night out.
Imagine my delight when I sat across from Santa Monica business owner, Stacey Kirsch, at a friend's birthday dinner and discovered she was the creator and owner of a cool little product called the Flexflop.
I was very intrigued by this clever piece of footwear and by the end of the dinner I wanted to buy a pair for every female I knew.
What is a Flexflop? It is a compact emergency flip-flop which folds up into a small decorative pouch and fits securely in any handbag. Which means, your feet will never have to go near a sticky bar floor or disgusting sidewalk again!
Soon after that dinner, I met Stacey at a little café on Main street to find out what led to the creation of the Flexflop and how she turned that idea into a practical business.
The idea first came to her while she was out with her girlfriends in Vegas. She was horrified as she watched them all walk through the dirty casinos with their shoes in their hands, after a night out dancing. Her creative wheels began to turn and soon she came up with a solution, the Flexflop.
Within six months they were in production and had their coming out party at a trade show in New York City. They were an instant hit.
As she meandered the bumpy road to create a business for her new product, she came across a few hiccups along the way. In one instant, a large order was delayed when the ship encountered a Tsunami at sea. When the shipment finally arrived at the warehouse, only three days remained to process and package the entire order. Stacey called for reinforcements and spent all three days working at the warehouse until every pair of Flexflops was ready to be delivered to the buyer on time.
After four years, Stacey operates a successful and almost seamless business. She has expanded the brand to include a variety of styles and designs and has branched out and now sells Flexflops for pedicures, travel, bridal showers, and more.
I own two pairs and they are not only practical but incredibly comfortable. But don't take my word for it. Get your aching feet into your own pair.
I promise you, you're feet will never go barefoot again.
