Naked bathers flee fire: Bath house guests flee for lives in China inferno

Today, reports of naked bathers fleeing a bath house fire in East China are topping news searches on the Web. Nude guests fled for their lives as a fire raged suddenly, killing one person and injuring as many as six. The source of the inferno has been identified and contained, according to a March 21 Daily Mail report.

Punters or "Johns," as the guests are often called, were going about their business in the bath house in Leqing, Zhejiang province, when a fire started and spread rapidly.

Photos of naked bathers fleeing from the fire appeared on the DM's website and showed the magnitude of the blaze, which is believed to have started in an adjacent apartment.

"One minute I was soaking in the tub, the next I could smell smoke and hear screams. There was no time to get my clothes. I just ran for my life," said one nude bather.

All bystanders and guests could do was watch on as firemen battled the fire (pictured here).

The bath house fire that forced naked bathers to run for their lives comes on the heels of another incident that claimed a number of lives. .

On March 13, in a village in east China's Jiangxi Province, sources say six family members perished in a fire believed to have started from burning incense for a religious ceremony.
