Award's season is in full swing. It starts with the People's Choice Awards, followed by the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the trifecta becomes complete on Sunday, February 24, 2013 with The Academy Awards.
Awards season starts days after Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. Actors, stylists, socialites and WAGs are all looking for that perfect dress, or three. Everything from color, texture and length are analyzed by fashionistas all over the world. All of the couture and accessories are expected to be looked at and coveted.
For the fashionistas that are on a budget or do not have a red carpet event to attend that requires couture, the nail's are essential. Nail polish, lacquer, paint, whatever one chooses to call it, is very accessible to all women. Salon manicures, gels and tips tend to make things a bit more complicated and pricey.
Many of the women walking the red carpet have a team of people that assist them decide on the dress, hair and accessories that they will be wearing. By the amount of painted nails on the red carpet, even the smallest details are addressed.
The red carpet nails for this awards season are classic and glamorous. All shades of red and pink keep things classic. With black, deep blues and greens adding a bit of glamour. While the new, full coverage, micro glitter metallic polishes are taking things to a whole new level of glamour. Anne Hathaway kept things sweet on the red carpet with a simple white mani with a black butterfly feature on three of her nails. Another young Hollywood starlet, Elizabeth Moss, kept things young and fresh with a bright pink polish.
One day soon, an interviewer will not only ask, 'Who are you wearing?', but also, 'What is the name of your nail polish?'
