Naeem Khan presented his stunning Spring 2014 collection in a runway fashion show for Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week on September 10, 2013 in New York City.
Khan looks to his own Indian culture for inspiration for many of his pieces, which are very ornately embroidered and feature mirrorwork. No doubt the heavy embroidery and beadwork is done on the Indian Subcontinent which excels at that sort of intricate, labor-intensive work required by the garment industry.
Favorites from this Naeem Khan Spring 2014 collection include an ivory gown with a square beaded bib, a cocktail dress with a bird and dear motif in vibrant colors such as orange, teal, navy and mauve, a graphic print dress with peach, blue, yellow and black stripes, and his three-quarter sleeve jacket with red and pink floral embroidery. The ivory embroidered bridal gown with an elegant scooped neck was gorgeous as well.
In addition, Naeem Khan’s collection of gowns in the peach, apricot and coral palette is particularly stunning.
Actually, I’m going to make a prediction that many of these gowns and cocktail dresses are going to show up at red carpet events…
Attending the Naeem Khan fashion show today were Padma Lakshmi, Perrey Reeves, Musser Golden, Brad Goreski, Iggy Azalea, Jessica Lowndes and Morgan Saylor.
