Vanessa Williams took the stage of the NAACP Image Awards for a somber moment on Friday night. The entertainer was presenting the In Memoriam segment honoring stars that have died over the last year. While the moment was reflective of the talent that was lost forever, the entertainer has a flawless segment that shared a look back at some famous faces and reminded the crowd how short life can be for some.
Two the entertainers that had people choked up included the recent deaths of Whitney Houston and Don Cornelius. Another entertainer that people shared a moment for included Clarence Clemons who died last year.
The segment shared a moment of reflection that reminded everyone how precious life is and as these extraordinarily talented famous people are missed, they will not be forgotten. The NAACP Image Awards took the time to share the celebration of life making Vanessa Williams’ segment one of the most important of the evening.
