A match peppered with early game skirmishes quickly evolved into what looked like a heavyweight title fight with, Counter Logic Gaming and compLexity trading blows. Aggressive maneuvers and smart engages from both sides kept the match close, with both teams responding well to the others strategies. In the end, the knockout blow came from CLG, bringing their record back to .500.
The game featured the first Thresh pick of the LCS, played by compLexity's Support, M eye A. The real story of the game, however, were the initiation titans Jarvan IV and Malphite, played by compLexity's Jungler Lautemortis and CLG's Top Laner HotshotGG respectively. Initiation after counter initiation made for some intense team fights, including an Ace for compLexity at 24:30. CompLexity was winning the extended engagements, but CLG was able to nurse a slight gold lead in order to beef up their front line.
Even though compLexity was keeping pace with CLG, a costly face check in their jungle (which was nearly negated by a lantern from Thresh) proved disastrous. CLG quickly ripped apart compLexity's base, taking out every tower and inhibitor to ensure the victory.
