N.J. man held on bail; accused of stabbing a mother in Bed Bath & Beyond (Video)

Tyrik Haynes is the 19 year old man accused of stabbing a young mother while she pushed her 5 month old baby through Bed Bath and Beyond. According to the Associated Press on Januray 19, 2013, Haynes has been held on $1 million bail for allegedly stabbing the woman who he did not know nearly a dozen times.

Monmouth County prosecutors also claimed the man from Middletown, N.J. is wanted for another crime where a cat was set on fire and found dead.

The woman who Haynes is being accused of stabbing is reported to be in critical but stable condition in a nearby hospital. Thankfully her five month old child whom she was pushing in Bed Bath and Beyond was not injured.

Although the baby escaped any injury this man faces numerous charges, including attempted murder and child endangerment.

There is no reported motive for the crime as of yet, but a simple reminder to be aware of surroundings, regardless of how safe an environment feels.
