Christopher Gibbons of Hampstead, N.H. shot and killed his neighbor's six-year-old Brittany spaniel last weekend after she ran into his yard.
According to Thursday's Fox 25 News, because the dog was barking at Gibbon's rabbits, who were contained in a hutch, he was within his rights to kill her.
Rather than walking next door to tell Sadie's owners that their dog was in his yard, Gibbons used his .223-caliber AR-15 semi-automatic rifle to kill her.
New Hampshire state law allows him to do so because Sadie was "worrying" his two rabbits.
Sadie's owners, Fred and Judy Galietta, believe that Gibbons shot and killed their dog in retaliation for their complaints about his late night target shooting.
Regardless of the reason, Sadie is dead and there will be no charges against the man responsible for killing her.
