Mythical Hall wins Northfield Park Open Trot

Mythical Hall captured Northfield Park’s $12,000 Open Trot on May 27 in a seasonal best of 1:55.2.

The 6-year-old son of Andover Hall posted a :29.1 final brush to win by three-quarters of a length with Aaron Merriman in the bike. Merriman currently leads all North American drivers in victories with 303 from 1,758 starts.

Mythical Hall is trained by Andy Rickert for Mark Jakubic of West Seneca, NY. The bay gelding now has 21 career wins, 18 seconds and ten thirds with $360,363 in lifetime earnings. This triumph was his third of the season in 12 tries, and pushed his 2014 bankroll to $19,805.

A $100,000 yearling purchase at the 2009 Lexington Select Yearling Sale, Mythical Hall is the third foal out of the Lindy Lane mare Myth, and is a full brother to Truth To Power 4, 2:00.4 ($32,066) and is a half-brother to Mythical Lindy (by SJ’s Caviar) 3, 1:53.2M, an 11-race winner of $629,124.
