Viewers of "MythBusters" learned on Thursday that long-time cast members Tory, Grant and Kari won't be back for the next season. According to E! Online, hosts Adam and Jamie made the announcement that their three co-stars would exit "MythBusters" after Thursday's season finale episode. Now, "MythBusters" fans are asking why exactly are they leaving?

Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara have been busting myths on "MythBusters" for nearly 10 years, alongside Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. Fans of "MythBusters" have grown to love the trio and were shocked on Thursday to learn of their departure, commenting online that Tory, Kari and Grant are just as equally important to the show as Adam and Jamie. Some fans would rather see the popular science entertainment series canceled than to have the show air without the three beloved crew members.

Not much has been said by Discovery Channel about why they are letting the co-hosts go, only saying on their Facebook page that it's the end of an era. The network went on to thank Kari, Grant and Tory for their incredible work over the last 10 years. Fans are flooding the page asking why and telling Discovery that they want an explanation. Said one fan, "Why after 10 years were they only given like a 20 second goodbye? Fans are outraged. This is really beyond disappointing." Discovery's silence is only alienating loyal fans further.

Kari Byron took to her Twitter account on Thursday to let fans know that "MythBusters" is taking a new direction without them, but "it was an amazing run." What that direction will be is anyone's guess. There's some speculation that Tory, Grant and Kari are casualties of network budget cuts. Other rumors are swirling that the show is running out of myths to test and that ratings are down. Even though "MythBusters" began airing with Savage and Hyneman as the sole hosts, viewers are now worried that dismantling the second team will breakdown the show's "chemistry" and lead to its ultimate demise.

Said Hyneman after Thursday's "Plane Boarding" episode, "This next season we're going back to our origins with just Adam and me." He went on to thank them for literally giving their blood, sweat and tears in the name of science and to wish them luck with their next endeavors. "Now, on to the next adventure!" tweeted Grant Imahara.
