Discovery fans can get energized this holiday season by tuning in to Discovery Channel on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's for some
of their favorite programming. On Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2010; a day long Mythbusters marathon will be followed by the seasonal
favorite Punkin Chunkin, according to a November 15, 2010 press release from Discovery Communications.
Discovery Channel is airing fan favorite marathons for the holidays. Appropriately enough, the Thanksgiving evening marathon is Punkin
Chunkin, the high flying, explosive pumpkin competition, Punkin Chunkin follows a day long marathon of the fan favorite Mythbusters.
Fresh off last year's high-flying, nail-biting and explosive competition, Punkn Chunkinwill air this Thanksgiving on Discovery
Channel at 8 PM (ET/PT). Hosted by Mythbusters' hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, the show celebrates 25 years of this pumpkin launching
Delaware-based tradition, hosted by the World Championship Punkin Chunkin Association (WCPCA).
Punkin Chunkin fun for 2010 is extended over two days, beginning with The Road to Punkin Chunkin Non Science Channel on Wednesday, November
24, 2010 at 10PM (ET/PT), and a Punkin Chunkin simulcast on Discovery Channel and Science Channel on Thanksgiving Day.
On Thanksgiving Day, the all day Mythbusters marathon begins at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Mythbusters is the Emmy®-nominated series that uses
science to prove or disprove myths and urban legends.
Immediately following the Thanksgiving Day Mythbusters marathon, at 8PM ET/PT, Discovery Channel will feature the smashing excitement of
PUNKIN CHUNKIN, hosted this year by MYTHBUSTERS' Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. 2010 marks the 25th anniversary of Delaware's annual "Punkin
Chunkin" competition.
Christmas and New Year's on Discovery Channel
On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, Discovery Channel will features the Best of Discovery, featuring Man vs. Wild with Bear Grylls, Dirty
Jobs with Mike Rowe and Deadliest Catch. Newcomers Paul Brown and Sam Calagione will also be on screen with episodes of Auction Kings and
Brew Masters.
Then on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, yet more myths are busted with two additional marathons of MYTHBUSTERS.
