One of Minneapolis' finest venues has closed its doors indefinitely. The closing was reported on Friday August 21st. All upcoming concerts, are more than likely, to be moved to another venue.

The Myth Nighclub was one of the metro's biggest venues. Its capacity of over 3000 people and the state of the art stage and lights, made it a perfect place to dance the night away and to enjoy a rocking concert. Just passing its fourth year of being opened, the venue has now closed its doors, many suspect of its previous financial problems.

In 2006 through 2007 the Myth property was over taken by a company controlled by Denny Hecker, a Twin Cities auto giant, who's now bankrupt. In a later report the owner of the Myth Nightclub, Michael Ogren, said he has repaid his loan to Mr. Hecker in order to manage his club once again.

The Myth closing now affects many concert goers who wonder about all the upcoming concert tickets they have already purchased. Ticketmaster is still selling many of the shows that are to be scheduled to be at the Myth. The next big concert planning a visit to the Myth are Indie-Rockers Snow Patrol on September 10th.

After the release of the venue being closed hit the news, owner Michael Ogren made a statement that he would seek to reopen the Myth Nighclub by September 1st.

Here is a list of all the upcoming shows to be held at the Myth Nightclub. No relocations have been determined yet.

UPDATE: I have been informed that the Regina Spektor concert has been moved to the State Theatre. I'm sure many others will be moved to similar venues. It will be hard for me to constantly update the list of concerts. So check with the artist's page for more details and changes and if you do know where the concert has been relocated, please feel free to comment this article, thanks.

    Isn't the Myth in Maplewood?

Regina Spektor has already moved to State Theatre on Sept. 11. Myth tix previously purchased have to be exchanged at the State Theatre box office, according to their e-mail.

The Myth was a terrible venue. We saw Regina Spektor there two years ago, and the staff was awful. Security was more intrusive than when I saw Ice T in 1992, and there were bouncers and waitresses loudly chatting during the show. That kind of behavior may fly at a rock show, but this is a girl and a piano. Ridiculous. My girlfriend actually went to Milwaukee to see Kraftwerk rather than see them at the Myth.

i agree that the staff there do suck.
way too impolite and too rowdy.
they're use to bossing around people during club events.
but the venue itself was nice.
good view of stage from everywhere up and down.
