Mystic Barrier is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled today Oct. 18, 2013 in a media update of the image gallery at DailyMTG.com. This rare white enchantment card from the "Nature of the Beast" deck of "Commander (2013 Edition)" allows you to choose which direction players attack in.
Mystic Barrier - 4W
When Mystic Barrier enters the battlefield or at the beginning of your upkeep, choose left or right.
Each player may attack only the opponent seated nearest him or her in the last chosen direction and planeswalkers controlled by that player.
Multiplayer games can be madness, and one of the worst things that can happen to you in commander is when everyone teams up against you. Mystic Barrier prevents this chaos, only allowing players to attack in the direction you choose. It's a lot easier to ward off your adversaries when only one of them can attack you.
One great thing about Mystic Barrier is that your able to decide each upkeep if you want to change the direction players must attack in, allowing you to make one of your rivals exposed to another deadly enemy.
It's important to note that Mystic Barrier can become a hindrance when you realize that the player sitting several seats away is using a combo deck and the player next to him won't be able to kill him. You'll need to hope someone else kills him before your rival assembles all their combo pieces. Likewise, Mystic Barrier may give you the time to find your own game winning combo.
How will you use Mystic Barrier?
