Mystery massive bird death sighting in Arkansas and Louisiana

Sightings of 5,000 blackbirds dropping from the sky on New Year's Eve in Arkansas sparked rumors of possible alien invasions, the apocalypse, and a top secret government experiment gone wrong. Wildlife officals claim that loud fireworks cause the mysterious mass killings of the blackbirds.

Karen Rowe, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission ornithologist told USA Today, "It was someone shooting off professional grade fireworks in a residential district, scaring the night-blind birds out of their roost into a 25-mph flight that ran them into houses, signs and even the ground."

Experts state the birds have poor limited night vision.  New Year's Eve fireworks would have spooked the birds, causing them to crash into things as they try to fly safely away.

Rose Pilar, a teacher and native New Yorker from Brooklyn, disagrees with the explanation.  "I don't think fireworks cause the birds to die.  If that's the case, why didn't this happen last year?  Perhaps something was wrong with the atmosphere for all of them to die at the same time.  It is all very strange."

New York based ABC News reports sightings of more birds falling from the sky in Louisiana.  The gruesome findings recounts 500 Louisiana birds littering the highways after they crashed into power lines, breaking their necks.

Reports also include up to 100,000 fish found dead on the Arkansas River.
