For more than a century a ghostly light has been appearing in the Ozark hills of Missouri and Oklahoma. Two men believe that they have captured the mysterious spook light on video, Perth Now reported today.
A visual phenomenon known as the Spook Light has been baffling people for years. It is often spotted floating in the forest in an area known as the Devil's Promenade and over the remote country road E 50. The Devil's Promenade is located near the border between southwestern Missouri and northeastern Oklahoma, west of the small town of Hornet, Missouri.
The Spook Light often goes by the names; Ozark Spook Light, Hollis Light, Hornet Spook Light, Hornet Ghost Light, Joplin Ghost Light, Devil’s Jack-O’-Lantern, and the Tri-State Spook Light.
There are many theories as to what the light could be but no one really knows for sure what it is or what causes it. In 1946 the United States Army Corp of Engineers investigated the light but never found a cause for it. The government stated that it is a "mysterious light of unknown origin" and concluded their investigation.
The Missouri Ghost Hunters recently recorded video footage of what they believe to be evidence of the Spook Light.
