There has been much speculation on the who, what, where and when of the SXSW Myspace Secret Shows. I have the inside scoop and can assert that these performances will be phenomenal, perfect for the live music capital of the world! This eclectic lineup will not disappoint Austinites so stay tuned.
From March 14-16, 2013, New Myspace will make some noise at Austin's SXSW to offer fans a unique opportunity to see artists that they are connected to on Myspace. Similar to previous years, these Myspace Secret Shows will be held in an undisclosed Austin-area locations during the SXSW Music Festival. Everyone is tight-lipped now but fans will be informed from the artists themselves the day before their performance.
Christian Parkes, global vice president of marketing at Myspace, said "Knowing how serious Austinites are about music, we thought they'd appreciate hearing it straight from their favorite artists first....We're bringing a diverse slate of talent to SXSW that's reflective of the democracy of the New Myspace."
Adding to the appeal is the fact that every show will be completely free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Keeping in line with its promise to help connect artists with their fans, each Myspace Secret Show artist will decide how they want to get the word out, giving fans all the more reason to connect to their favorite artists on the new Myspace site.

How: Artists will announce their Secret Show the day before their performance, sending a link for fans to connect with them on the new Myspace to get tickets. Once they've connected, fans will receive details on ticket pick-up location and timing.
