If you carry a smartphone in your pocket and are teeing it up this week at the 2014 Myrtle Beach World Amateur golf tournament, you will want to have one app at the ready on your iOS or Android device.

There is no better way to stay informed of everything going on at the 2014 World Am than though the official Myrtle Beach World Am app.

From getting your course assignments to seeing the complete list of scores from your flight, this app has it.

The app even has GPS directions to the courses you will playing on The Grand Strand. That can come in handy with morning shotgun starts and almost 70 different courses being used during the week.

Per the app developers, here is what users can expect when they download the app:

- Personalized Participant and Flight Information for this year's tournament
- Current and Past Scores
- GPS directions to all courses used in the tournament as well as hotels and restaurants.
- Event Schedule
- Prize List
- 19th Hole information

The app will serve many purposes for golfers and for event organizers. Especially if information has to be relayed to participants.

"We think the golfers are going to take to this app," says Chris King, communications director for the World Am. "It could really come in handy if it were to, God forbid... rain."

It doesn't look like rain is in the forecast for the week, but try the app and see if it helps you get through a week of playing in the World Am in Myrtle Beach.
