Myr Superion offers players an interesting deal in Magic: The Gathering’s New Phyrexia - a massive 5/6 artifact beast with no disadvantages for just 2 mana? What’s the catch? Well, you’re going to have to pay for Myr Superion with mana generated from creatures.

The two obvious “one taps” you can find right in Scars of Mirrodin block are Palladium Myr or Grand Architect (GA can play Myr Superion the very same turn he hits the board). Looking a little further outside the confines of SOM block, there’s Joraga Treespeaker that can also get the job done with a single twist.
There’s nothing wrong with tapping a couple of plain old mana Myr to push out your giant Myr titan to the field either, but it’s probably suboptimal to rely on multiple cards to get your giant out quickly. If you’re going to play Myr Superion, you’re going to want to be able to get the job done with a single card.
In Limited Myr Superion will be fantastically hit or miss, mostly miss. If your Sealed pool happens to pick up a few different ways to get him out, wonderful - but relying on a single way or several creatures to try and run him out is dangerous and you’ll lose many games clutching your Myr Superion in your hand.
Things get more interesting in draft, where Myr Superion will be collected in the first pack each time, so you’ll have both the Mirrodin Besieged pack and Scars of Mirrodin pack to cobble together some useful ways to play your larger-than-life Myr.
A build high in creature mana (Myrs), metalcraft, artifact sacrifice outlets, and a smattering of equipment to suit up your baby mechs is probably what you should be looking for if you’re dedicated to making Myr Superion work. You’ll often be able to collect a Myr Reservoir in the Scars of Mirrodin pack to complete your Myrstrosity.
For all of its theoretical might, it’s probably not the best idea to try and build around Myr Superion or to use your first pick on it – it’s just as susceptible to a Shatter or Remove Existence as any other artifact, and you’ll really need to jump through hoops to get it going.
