MyMC2 gives you mobile access to your local military community

If you are part of a military community or simply a military enthusiast that likes to keep up to date on the events,. news and goings on of your local military base there is an app that can keep you informed. MyMC2 (my military communities) is an app for your android and iOS mobile devices that gives you access to all the information of public events and base news all in one convenient location.

"This is going to get all of our event info in one place, for the first time,"Amy Moorash, chief of advising for Army Continuing Education System at JBLM said. "It's at a push of a button. I think it's fantastic.

Currently there are only 30 military communities that participate in the app. If the community near you is one that doesn't participate you can call and ask them to join in the service. If your local community does participate then you can quickly find out when the next fair will be held, who the new base command is going to be, community clubs and other public information on your smartphone or tablet.

"It won't replace all our other outreach and marketing. But we're always looking for more ways to get the word out," said Toby Bartley, creative director for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Marketing.

If for some reason you can't get an on-air connection with your mobile device there is an “off-line” feature on the app that will give you the last available information and then update it when the connect is re-established. As cellular coverage is always improving you might never have need for this feature but there is always a few dead-spots.
