A partnership between Myles “The Fury” Jury and The GM’s Perspective was announced September 2, 2014 via Jury's personal website.

Jury is ranked #9 in the most recent UFC Lightweight rankings and is only weeks away from one of the biggest fights of his young career. On Saturday September 20, Jury pits his undefeated record against “The Fireball Kid” Takanori Gomi, live on UFC Fight Pass. Jury is 14-0 in his MMA career, and currently boasts a 5-0 record in the Octagon.

Out of the Octagon, Jury is the founder of Jury Jiu Jitsu. According to Jury, “Jury Jiu Jitsu is a growing affiliate system of “The New Era” Mixed Martial Arts (“MMA”). We offer a variety of programs to all ages and gender. Jury Jiu Jitsu offers an unmatched and evolving skill set that is an unequaled training experience for anyone interested in today’s martial arts.”

Jury’s debut in the UFC posed a difficult challenge, but as with any great athlete, heart and determination gets them through the tough times.

After his debut on The UFC’s; Ultimate Fighter 13: Team Lesnar Vs. Team Dos Santos, he discovered that he tore his ACL, leaving him unable to train for a year. That adversity was only a sidebar in the career of most of the most highly touted fighters in the world today. He returned to earn a spot on the 15th season of TUF and the first ever TUF broadcasted live.

He battled his way through the house, ultimately earning a spot on the Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale where he submitted Chris Saunders by first-round submission. Since, Jury has defeated Michael Johnson, Ramsey Nijem, Mike Ricci, and Diego Sanchez, enroute to his much-anticipated fight again Gomi.

The GM’s Perspective is owned and operated by Founder / Executive Director Devon Teeple.

Since 2001, Devon has been a professional player, baseball operations executive, and contributor to various sports websites including Sportsnet, The Canadian Baseball Network and The Biz of Baseball. He is a valued voice to online sites dedicated to the game and advocate for the independent game. With both business acumen and exhaustive baseball insights, he understands the game behind the game…from player stats to the marketing and operations that help franchises thrive.

Before signing his professional contract with the Gateway Grizzlies in 2001, Devon earned a baseball scholarship to Nebraska’s York College where he earned a distinguished record as Team Captain, Team Leader in ERA and strike-outs, Athlete of the Year, and NAIA National Pitcher of the Week, among many other achievements.

His site focuses on the inner workings of the game, but continues to evolve into something more. There is more to any sports than just numbers. The athletes that take the field every day, or step in to the Octagon, have dedicated their entire lives to their craft. Their sacrifice and dedication can only be understood first-hand.

The GM’s Perspective will give you the ultimate baseball breakdown, however as this new agreement with Team Fury and Myles Jury suggests, the site is growing into something bigger, something more than statistics and box scores, it’s about the athlete and what the athlete can give back to the sport that has taught them so much.
