The Ford electric cars are now a reality that started with their first electric car, the Ford Focus Electric. The latest electric models for this year are the Fusion Energi and C-Max Energi electric cars. All of these cars include the free use of the MyFord Mobile app which let Ford electric car owners view their vehicles' remaining battery charge and nearest vehicle charging station from their car or smartphone device as reported Feb. 6, 2013 by CNET.
Ford and their MyFord Mobile app were able to achieve an exclusive partnership with Plugshare.com that shows the closest vehicle charging stations in your immediate area complete with real time information that is sent directly into the smartphone app.
The MyFord Mobile app was first introduced with Ford's first electric car model the Focus Electric. The app lets you schedule remote charging of your electric vehicle, warm up the car on those cold blustery winter days or cool the car on those hot humid summer days.
With Ford's recent partnership with Plugshare.com, it adds a wealth of useful information to an already fantastic app from Ford. It will show on your smartphone device, whether the charging station is free or paid, the type of electric charger, and if the charging station is in use or not. The MyFord Mobile app will be very popular in areas like California where the electric car revolution is currently catching on.
The My Ford Mobile app is quite useful to find the tastiest local eateries in your area along with the closest charging station within a short walking distance. This way Ford electric car owners will not have to worry about their car's battery level when they are enjoying a night on the town.
The My Ford Mobile app is available now for both iOS and Android smartphone devices. The electric car revolution is here and soon we will all be going to bed wondering, did we plug in our smartphone device, but is our car plugged in for the evening as well?
